The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is one of seventeen volunteer and career departments that make up the Jefferson County Fire Service. This department covers 52 square miles and serves the communities of Pleasure Ridge Park and Valley Station in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky.
We gain our operating funds as a taxing district and serve the community from eight stations, a headquarters and a training facility. We are staffed by 80 volunteers and 45 career firefighters and other personnel who fill various support and administrative duties.
The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is committed to protecting people, property and the environment. We will be responsive to the needs of those who visit, or live in our community, by providing rapid, professional, emergency services essential to the health, safety, and well being of the community.
We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire suppression, first responder medical care, hazard mitigation, specialized rescue services, and other related activities.
We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently employ all of the necessary resources to provide a service deemed excellent by the people we serve.
