Training Division

   The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department Training Division has the responsibilities in

all aspects of training our personnel to become successful firefighters. A comprehensive

training program is essential to ensure firefighters are

prepared to handle those situations they encounter

on a daily basis. Quick decisions based on training and

education supports each member by strengthening

their knowledge, judgment and creativity skills to

provide a positive outcome. The division has the

responsibility to ensure all personnel comply with

 federal, state & local mandates while providing

the highest level of training to keep firefighters at

an ample level of preparedness. This Training is ongoing and helps each firefighter

maintain a level of confidence and endurance by improving their skills in

more realistic environments.  Safety is Priority 1 thus ensuring Everyone Goes Home.

 


 Maintenance Division

    The Maintenance Division has the accountability of numerous facilities such as

seven Fire Stations, an Administration Building, a Training Facility and Maintenance

Shop. Housed in these facilities is a fleet of 38 vehicles.

Among the apparatus are 14 engines, 2 aerial

 units and a squirt; complimented by a fleet of

smaller vehicles comprised of command,

forestry, rehab,  watercraft and other support

vehicles. This Division is staffed with four

personnel that work diligently to keep all

vehicles in top running condition. These are the  duties that the Maintenance Division

does on a daily basis; among others that they may be called upon in a moments notice.

 


Fire Prevention

   The Fire Prevention Division is under the direction of the District Fire Marshal. The

Division is responsible for conducting plan reviews of all residential, commercial, &

industrial construction projects within the District. The Division also conducts field

inspections to ensure compliance with local code and

takes appropriate action to correct unsafe conditions.

The Fire Prevention Division, in coordination with the

Operations Division, also provides educational fire safety

programs to schools, businesses, and many other Civic

and Community groups. Please feel free to contact our
